Why an Easy Sled kit?
Outdoor enthusiasts have spent hours designing and building DIY wooden sleds over the years which is a great way to get on the ice for minimal cost (check our FAQ's for a guide!). If you're looking for something lighter, stronger, completely rot-proof and entirely collapsible, this is why we made the Easy Sled kit. Our kit is an aluminum frame engineered to attach seamlessly to a set of skis, drastically reducing the effort needed to pull your gear across the frozen back-country. It's affordable, dependable, and built by hand to handle whatever winter throws your way.
Each Easy Sled kit is hand made here in Ontario, Canada. Every cut, drilled hole, and tig weld is done right here in Ontario. Even our aluminium is poured/milled right here in Ontario. We strive to ensure each kit is nearly identical, however as it is a hand made product there can be some minor variance.
Kit Contents:
Built using square aluminum tubing, each kit contains the following:
- 2 tig welded aluminum crossbars (36" wide x 8" high)
- 4 tig welded aluminum mounting feet
- Mounting Hardware
NOTE: Downhill skis & sleigh are not included in the kit and must be obtained separately.
Specifications:
Material: Made of T6063-T6 Aluminum extruded aluminum.
Weight: ~5lbs including the crossbars and feet/bases.
Weight Capacity: The Easy Sled can carry up to 400 lbs per kit, though this much weight will be very difficult to pull. Generally, we see most customers carrying an average of 80-150 lbs.

*Weight capacities are based on T6061/T6063 aluminum specifications and even weight distribution across the width of both cross-members.
